About “Youth Delegate for Sustainable Development”

The first time, youth was classified as an own group that is affected by issues of sustainable development was at the Rio conference in 1992.
Since the earth summit in Joannesburg in 2002 (“Rio+10”) the German Federal Youth Organisation and the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety send out youth delegates, in order to participate in the political process of sustainable development within the UN.

Felix and Rebecca accompany the German governmental delegation to the United Nations in New York and meet young people in Germany to talk about sustainable development with them.

Even more important to strengthen civil society relationship with the EU and foster engagement.
